Cody Wave's journey into the music industry is a testament to both his natural talent and the supportive environment of his musically gifted family. Coming from a background steeped in musical tradition, Cody's early exposure to various instruments and music production tools set the stage for his eventual career as a producer.
Starting with guitar lessons at a remarkably young age of 6, Cody's musical education continued to expand as he picked up other instruments such as bass, drums, and piano. His initiation into digital music production came at the age of 11 when his brothers introduced him to FruityLoops, a popular digital audio workstation (DAW). This marked the beginning of his exploration into beat-making and music production.
Joining the school band at 12 and taking on the role of band leader and lead guitarist further honed Cody's musical skills and performance abilities. His involvement in school productions likely provided valuable experience in both live performance and production aspects of music.
As he matured, Cody's passion for music only grew stronger. Despite leaving a computer course, he pursued his dreams by saving up money to invest in studio gear. Collaborating with his brothers and local artists like Oh6 Offishal, Cody began to carve out his niche in the music scene of Hawkes Bay.
By his 20s, Cody had established himself as a prominent figure in the New Zealand Urban community. His work with renowned artists such as Sid Diamond, TY, Smashproof, PT, and Mikey Mayz further solidified his reputation as a skilled producer and recording engineer. Additionally, his involvement in music programs, such as the one at Taiwhenua O Heretaunga, showcased his commitment to nurturing the next generation of musical talent.
